The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. While staring at this image, the whole pattern not only seems to pulsate, but the central yellow disc appears to float slightly and shrink. You may also see a range of dark spots alternately appearing and disappearing within the central light disc.
